This month we wanted to highlight all of our SPRE Champion Members and thank them for their incredible commitment, engagement, and generosity as partners in the social purpose real estate movement. We are so grateful to our 2021 SPRE Champion members below as some of NCN's most dedicated members and as essential and vibrant leaders in our NCN community.

Water Cooler at Pegasus Park is sponsored by Lyda Hill Philanthropies, in partnership with J. Small Investments, and is the largest nonprofit shared space in Texas. The community exists to enable the Dallas social services sector to be one of the most effective in the nation by offering a world-class shared space to help organizations attract and retain talent, improve organizations’ collaboration, reduce administrative costs by providing more predictable leases, and create more visibility around the social problems that need to be solved. Approximately 175,000 square feet of space spanning five floors on Pegasus Park’s campus is dedicated to Water Cooler.

NTC Foundation was established in 2000 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to enrich the lives of San Diegans by renovating this signature community asset and creating, facilitating, and operating ARTS DISTRICT as a 100-acre creative district. Visitors experience the arts, culture, creativity, and cuisine that are the hallmarks of the San Diego region and enjoy innovative experiences in a historic setting at Liberty Station that inspire lives for generations to come. Thanks to community and donor support, NTC Foundation is working to advance ARTS DISTRICT to be (1) a center for arts, culture, and creativity that offers innovative experiences to both residents and visitors, (2) a creative hub for San Diego’s nonprofits and artists, (3) a dynamic destination for children and families, and (4) a historical showcase that honors the city’s Navy heritage.

Ventura Partners provides CRE services for community benefit, working with non-profit organizations. We support local communities by teaming with partners to for efficient, effective, and thoughtful use of resources. Drawing upon experience with a variety of buildings and the organizations they house, Ventura Partners customizes services to the needs of each project. This can take the form of comprehensive planning and development, property and facilities management, or more targeted problem solving. No matter the scope, we/they always approach our/their work with an eye to the long-term sustainability of community assets. Current projects include: EPACENTER, a brand-new facility in East Palo Alto run by a nonprofit organization for creative youth development; Impact Justice, a national innovation and research center for justice reform; Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, organizing with Black, Brown, and low-income people to shift resources restoratively; and CAST (Community Arts Stabilization Trust), innovating finance for community and cultural art sustainability.

Teal Street Center (TSC) is a multi-tenant nonprofit facility designed to offer accessible, coordinated social services in Juneau, Alaska. The 12,400 sq. ft. project will be the permanent home for eight nonprofit organizations that serve seniors, those experiencing physical or mental health disabilities, at-risk youth, veterans, cancer patients, and low-income individuals and families. TSC is designed to be a social services hub set in the heart of a high-needs population. Our building will be adjacent to Juneau’s newly opened homeless shelter. Transitional and low-income senior housing units are on the opposite side of our project.

The Center for Nonprofits @ St. Mary’s is the largest nonprofit center in North America -- with over 300,000 square feet of facilities on 13 acres. We house 57 nonprofit organizations on the property. We are a multi-partner organization that offers health, education, and human services to people living in Northwest Arkansas. Our focus is to provide below-market-rate leases for nonprofit organizations in spaces that encourage collaboration and allow easy public access for services. The Center for Nonprofits @ St. Mary’s provides increased capacity for these organizations through additional spaces like classrooms, meeting rooms, plus building amenities, as well as facility support services.

SVCreates seeks to address the signficant challenges arts organizations face in finding affordable, permanent space in Silicon Valley by championing a distributed network of shared, multi-tenant facilities which bring arts groups and artists together to share resources and build community. SVCreates First Street Arts Hub is a 7500 SF open floor plan office space shared by six arts organizations and creatives and includes a live streaming studio (installed during COVID) for use by San Jose Jazz and others.

ISSofBC is one of the largest immigrant-serving agencies in Canada, with a national and international reputation in the field of migrant issues and services for immigrants and refugees. Every year, ISSofBC supports more than 20,000 people with a broad range of services through 14 offices located in Metro Vancouver and across BC. Streamlined access to care is a major need among newcomers, especially those with significant language, cultural and financial barriers. ISSofBC has had a long-held vision to address this need. With the support of selected community organizations with shared values, as well as funding support from government and the private sector, ISSofBC opened the ISSofBC Welcome Centre in Vancouver in 2016. The Centre houses 58,000 sq ft of residential units and support services delivered by ISSofBC and co-located community organizations including the VanCity Credit Union, Vancouver Association of Survivors of Torture (VAST), Mount Pleasant Family Centre Society, the Lower Mainland Urgent and Primary Care Centre and the Immigration and Refugee Legal Clinic. Building on the success of this model, ISSofBC opened the ISSofBC Welcome Centre in Surrey in 2019.

The CF Campus opened in January of 2019 as a shared space for community advancement in Tucson, Arizona. Our nonprofit campus spans more than 24,000 square feet across three buildings with a central courtyard. The CF Campus includes short-term private offices, long-term suites, drop-in work spaces, mailboxes, multiple conference rooms, common areas, and event spaces. CF Campus was created by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA)whose headquarters are located on the second floor. Along with CFSA, there are more than fifteen nonprofit organizations that rent office space or utilize mailbox services.
