Erwin L. Acox
Director, Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion – Tides
Erwin is Director of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at Tides in San Francisco. He has more than 20 years of experience working with executive leaders to foster positive change in complex organizations. Currently, Erwin is leading Tides’ diversity, equity, and inclusion journey, advising organizational leaders through culture shifts that create positive employee experiences. His DEI practice is focused on identifying the root causes of organizational inequities, and educating organizations on sustainable approaches to address them. Erwin leans into approaches that help community members feel valued and respected, and where the organization can realize its full potential. His main focus is to foster more just, equitable, and human-centered organizations. A veteran of the United States Army, Erwin holds masters degrees in business administration and training and development, as well as a bachelor of arts degree in psychology, all from Roosevelt University in Chicago. He is a native of Chicago (go Sox!), who now lives in San Francisco with his wife and daughters.
Asher-Leigh Boone
Family Partnership Center Steward – Family Services
Asher-Leigh Boone currently serves as the FPC Stewart for Family Services Inc. She has many years of experience working in community organizing and civic action. Her focus within the agency is working toward building and furthering collaboration within the Poughkeepsie community. Asher-Leigh is a recent graduate of the University at Albany with a Dual-major Bachelors of Arts in Public Policy and Sociology with dual concentrations in Race, Gender & Society, and Health and Human Services. Asher-Leigh is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Strategic Communication. She is also a 2019 graduate of the NAACP NextGen leadership program.
Stephanie Hughes
Associate Director for HR; Diversity & Inclusion – Family Services
Stephanie Hughes is a seasoned Human Resources professional with over a decade of recruitment, employee relation, training, and program creation and development experience. In her current role as Associate Director of HR in Diversity and Inclusion, she works to promote and ensure organization-wide diversity, equity, and inclusion in both practice and service delivery. Stephanie has gained experience in various fields, ranging from hospitals and healthcare to social services and human services. Through every endeavor, she has been able to align her work with her passion for humanity and human relations. In addition to being SHRM-CP certified, Stephanie holds a BA in Communications and a Masters in Human Resources Management.
Katharine Moore
Executive Director – The Jefferson Avenue Center
A native of Washington, D.C., Katharine Moore began a career in international programing as the Director of Conferences and Protocol for the World Congress on Philanthropy before becoming Director of Programming and Acting Executive Director for the International Women’s Media Foundation. She produced programs for regional journalists in countries around the world – and directed a two-year project in Zimbabwe for political journalists from throughout southern Africa in preparation for the first democratic election in South Africa. After relocating to Columbus, Ohio her work in the nonprofit sector has included 13 years as the director of the German Village Society and more than a decade as the director of The Jefferson Avenue Center in Columbus, Ohio. Moore says it has been her great fortune to find herself serving a Board of Trustees poised to work long-term on issues of racial equity at this very moment in time.
