 | Billions in Nonprofit Projects Halted by Credit Crisis
In a recent study, Johns Hopkins researchers estimate $166 billion in nonprofit infrastructure projects have been delayed by the credit crisis nationwide.  | Sierra Health Foundation celebrates the opening of Nonprofit Innovation Center
The 12,500-square-foot Nonprofit Innovation Center will open in March with up to 14 nonprofit tenants. The Center is designed to help raise the nonprofits' profile, both through clustering and by locating near two large local nonprofits—Sierra Health Foundation and The California Endowment. According to Executive Director Chet Hewitt, the driving force behind the Nonprofit Innovation Center is to get some economies of scale at a critical time when government funding and donations are shrinking.  | Happy 20th Anniversary to 18th Street Arts Center!
18th Street Arts Center is an internationally recognized creative community supporting contemporary arts and culture with a unique mandate to encourage the careers of emerging and under-represented mid-career artists. 18th Street started as a complex of artist live-work space and headquarters of High Performance magazine. Today, it is home to 30 arts organizations and a respected destination for national and international artists wishing to publish, perform, work and/or exhibit in Los Angeles County.  | The Youth Opportunity Center, Nashville's New One-stop Place for Youth
The Youth Opportunity Center, opened in February, houses eleven organizations that serve thousands of young people through a continuum of more than 30 different youth programs. In addition to health care, college counseling, and a youth-run business, the center includes the city's only long-term transitional housing for runaways or homeless kids. The purchase and renovation of the Center was a collaborative effort among STARS Nashville, Oasis Center and United Neighborhood Health Services, who pooled their resources for the building. Mission/Purpose: Provide an opportunity for interaction and collaboration on all aspects of non-profit operation, training, development, value and growth in a barrier-free, affordable, stable work environment with an innovative conference facility and state-of-the-art audio-visual technology.
Special Features: Founded by the Kahanoff Foundation, the 11-story Centre provides subsidized office space to the nonprofit sector. The Centre offers a 9600 square-foot conference center for nonprofit organizations in the region and community minded private sector organizations that want to reflect the principals of social responsibility. The Centre also houses the Volunteer Calgary Library, one of the largest, most up-to-date collections of volunteer, non-profit and fundraising management resources in Southern Alberta.
